About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Group Assistant Accountant to join our Group Finance team at Avant Homes. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for a variety of accounting tasks to support the completion of the monthly Head Office accounts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and review daily and weekly Group cash reports.
  • Approve weekly manual payments.
  • Prepare and post prepayments and accruals.
  • Prepare and review journals.
  • Review and process Group recharges.
  • Prepare and consolidate monthly Head Office credit card statements.
  • Complete Balance Sheet reconciliations.
  • Complete P&L analysis and reconciliations.
  • Prepare monthly Group VAT return.
  • Maintain Head Office Fixed Asset register.
  • Support completion of monthly management accounts and annual audit working papers.
  • Prepare annual Tax Pack data.
  • Provide cover for the Head Office Management Accountant.
Requirements
  • Full or part-qualified in AAT, ACA, ACCA, or CIMA.
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel skills, including VLookups and Pivot tables.
  • Good accounting and financial knowledge, with a desire to continue or commence an ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualification.
  • Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems.
  • Ability to work independently to deadlines, particularly at month-end and year-end.
  • Flexible attitude to changing business needs.
