Job Title: Senior Technical Engineer

At Harron Homes, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Technical Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Technical Department, you will be responsible for managing technical and site infrastructure matters from land bid appraisal to planning approval through to construction and final estate completions/adoption.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Secure and ensure all technical information, including drawings, services, and supplier details, are issued and received in accordance with statutory and planning approval requirements.
  2. Check legal agreements, including section agreements, and advise on the appointment of external consultants.
  3. Develop effective interfaces and communication channels with consultants, contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
  4. Attend and participate in pre-start meetings, monthly site meetings, and other meetings to review and assess progress.
  5. Ensure timely distribution of relevant drawings and technical information to Construction, Sales, and Commercial teams.
  6. Prepare and submit update and evaluation reports to ensure engineering and architectural activities maximize build programme efficiency.
  7. Provide technical support and guidance to internal departments and colleagues.
  8. Input and maintain computer-based databases and data management systems.
  9. Work as part of a team to deliver best value schemes and promote best practice.
  10. Share knowledge and assist other staff members in carrying out their duties.
  11. Comply with Health and Safety and Environmental Policies and all other company policies and procedures.
Person Specification:

We are looking for a candidate with a HND/Degree in Building Studies/Construction/Engineering or equivalent, and a minimum Associate Membership of an Engineering institute. You should have a demonstrable track record in residential development and knowledge of specific design and specification features, utility companies, and procedures.

You should also have a sound working knowledge of CAD and other software civil engineering packages, cost accounting, and data management systems. Excellent communication and presentation skills, leadership and coaching skills, persuasion and influencing skills, and interpersonal/motivation skills are essential.

A high degree of self-motivation and drive is required, as well as the ability to work as part of a team to deliver best value schemes and promote best practice.
