Regional Health and Safety Manager - Midlands Coverage

We are seeking a highly skilled Regional Health and Safety Manager to join our team at Thorn Baker Construction. As a leading construction company, we prioritize safety above all else and are committed to delivering exceptional results for our clients.

In this role, you will be responsible for providing ongoing regional HSE support to multiple construction sites in the Midlands region. You will work closely with our operations teams and external H&S partners to drive HSEQ initiatives, monitor site safety performance, and ensure compliance with ISO45001 Safety, Quality, and Environment Management systems, as well as our company policies and procedures.

The ideal candidate will be a Manager or Senior Advisor with excellent planning skills and the ability to stay one step ahead. You should be client-focused, possess strong commercial acumen, and have a track record of delivering results within deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with the wider operations team and other client team members to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Attend client H&S meetings to discuss site-specific safety concerns and develop effective solutions.
  • Support site teams with all H&S aspects, including reviewing safe systems of work and conducting workplace inspections.
  • Manage day-to-day H&S activities on site, including conducting investigations into accidents or incidents and managing on-site occupational health.
  • Coordinate training for project staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles safely and effectively.

Requirements:

  • Passionate about Health & Safety and committed to delivering exceptional results.
  • An effective communicator at all levels, with excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • A technically aware team player with experience providing health and safety support in the construction and building services sectors.
  • Proficient in IT and report writing, with the ability to analyze data and develop effective solutions.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent.
  • CSCS Professional Card.
  • First aid trained.
