About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Class Teacher to join our team at Autism Unlimited. As a Class Teacher, you will be responsible for teaching and guiding students in our secondary phase (ages 11-16) on a full-time, term-time basis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver effective lessons to small groups of students, promoting academic excellence and individual growth.
  • Ensure the wellbeing and safety of students at all times, fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Build strong relationships with students, parents, staff, and school governors, promoting effective communication and collaboration.
  • Identify and implement effective teaching methods to enhance student development, staying up-to-date with best practices in education.
  • Demonstrate expertise across a range of subjects, adapting to the needs of diverse learners.
  • Attend parent consultation meetings, keeping parents informed of student progress and additional requirements.
  • Contribute to the wider life and ethos of the school, promoting a positive and inclusive culture.

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential for this role.
  • Experience in teaching secondary education is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with students, parents, and staff.
  • Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities, with a flexible and proactive approach.
  • Commitment to promoting inclusion, diversity, and equality in education.
