The Role

Due to the successful execution of various projects, our client is in search of a seasoned CE&I Safety Systems Engineer to enhance their skilled team of nuclear experts, ensuring optimal safety throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and provide input on various Machinery Safety system documents, such as User Requirement Specifications (URS).
  • Offer guidance to the engineering design team and review engineering design work packages.
  • Collaborate with fellow engineers to engage suppliers and gather data for substantiating equipment for weighing systems.
  • Prepare optioning reports to support the selection process.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Proficient in CE&I Safety Systems, including BS 61508 and BS EN 13849.
  • Experience delivering projects in accordance with the Machinery Directive.
  • Familiarity with the deliverables across various CE&I domains, including Safety Systems, Environmental Monitoring, and Security.
  • Knowledge of Electrical Power and Lighting, Fire Systems, Control Systems, and related services.
  • Ability to review Safety System documents in compliance with the Machinery Directive.
  • Experience liaising with vendors and suppliers (e.g., weighing systems).
  • Competence in applying CDM Regulations and IET Wiring Regulations.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of an integrated delivery team or independently under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to interact with stakeholders at all levels.
Desirable Skills
  • Experience in Safety System design.
  • Familiarity with EMPHAIS Assessments.
  • Experience delivering against ES_1_2190_1 and EG_1_2104_1.
