Job Title: Lead IT Software Developer

University of Birmingham is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead IT Software Developer to join our IT Services team.

About the Role

We are looking for a talented individual to lead the development of high-quality software solutions that meet the needs of our organisation. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering software solutions on time and to budget, providing third-line support for those solutions once they are live, and working closely with our stakeholders to understand their requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver quality software solutions on time and to budget
  • Provide third-line support for software solutions
  • Work closely with stakeholders to understand their requirements
  • Lead the development of software solutions using Azure services and Microsoft Biztalk
  • Develop software solutions using C# development, Git, GitHub, Team Foundation Service, and Terraform
  • Write and apply automated tests and create Continuous Deployment/Continuous Integration pipelines
  • Supervise and coach team members
  • Champion Equality, Diversity and Inclusion in the workplace
Requirements
  • Experience of integration development using Azure services and Microsoft Biztalk
  • Experience of C# development, Git, GitHub, Team Foundation Service, and Terraform
  • Experience writing and applying automated tests and creating Continuous Deployment/Continuous Integration pipelines
  • Strong software and solution development experience with a proven record of delivering and supporting complex integration and software solutions
  • Experience of delivery methodologies such as Kanban, Scrum, and other agile approaches
  • Strong supervisory and coaching skills
  • Experience of championing Equality, Diversity and Inclusion in the workplace
