Security Engineers hold a crucial position in safeguarding Tesco against security threats, with the authority to implement innovative strategies to minimize vulnerabilities. Whether it involves engineering solutions to overcome technical security challenges, protecting customer data, or providing consultation on a variety of security matters, you will be empowered to lead cross-functional initiatives.
In this role, you will collaborate with seasoned application security engineers to pinpoint deficiencies in software engineering practices and propose streamlined security solutions that align with existing workflows.

Key Responsibilities
In this role, you can expect to:
Identify deficiencies in software engineering practices and select suitable application security tools that integrate seamlessly with development processes. Utilize agile methodologies, such as scrum, in your work. Deliver training on our core application security products to both security and engineering teams. Create and provide accessible documentation on the application security products offered to the organization. Advocate for security best practices throughout the organization. Assist in developing automation and monitoring systems to enforce security policies and detect potential threats. Establish safe-by-default guidelines for engineers to utilize.Required Qualifications
Core Technical Skills
Proficiency in at least one scripting or programming language, such as Python, JavaScript, or Java. Experience in supporting, managing, and constructing cloud infrastructure (preferably Azure). Familiarity with configuring at least one continuous integration tool, such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps. Demonstrated experience in operating and managing Linux distributions, including RHEL, Ubuntu, and CentOS. Understanding of containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker and Kubernetes). Strong operational and technical troubleshooting skills. Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and common tools, including JIRA, Git, GitHub, and Nexus. Solid understanding of architectural and design principles. Knowledge of common Application Security Tools (SCA/SAST/DAST/IaC Security). Awareness of OWASP Top 10, Mitre Top 25, and CVSS frameworks, with a focus on business risk mapping. Soft Skills
