JOB DESCRIPTION

As an Industrial Coating Specialist within the Greengate Business Unit, you will play a crucial role in the effective and safe execution of surface preparation, coating, and maintenance tasks as assigned. You will be eager to embrace challenges, enhance your leadership abilities, and broaden your knowledge and experience through a range of stimulating initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Surface Preparation: Execute essential surface preparation tasks, including detailed masking and sanding of products to guarantee a perfect finish.
  • Expert Coating Application: Perform spray coating functions, skillfully applying preparatory undercoating, preservatives, and top coats to achieve superior results.
  • Equipment Care: Clean and maintain coating shop equipment such as air lines, fluid lines, paint pots, spray guns, and respirators, ensuring optimal performance.
  • Quality Control: Ensure all coatings comply with rigorous NOV or customer specifications, upholding our reputation for excellence.
  • Hazardous Waste Management: Appropriately contain and dispose of hazardous waste produced from coating shop operations, prioritizing safety and environmental standards.
  • Booth Upkeep: Maintain coating booth media filters and surface protectant coatings as necessary, fostering a clean and efficient workspace.
  • Component Coating: Spray coat small component parts under general supervision prior to assembly and final coating, contributing to the overall production workflow.
  • Continuous Improvement: Actively engage in quality enhancement meetings and initiatives, driving innovation and excellence.
  • Workplace Organization: Keep equipment and work areas tidy and organized, performing basic preventative maintenance tasks to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Policy Adherence: Comply with all NOV Company, Quality, and HSE policies and procedures, and be prepared to undertake additional tasks as required.
Required Skills & Experience:

Essential:
  • Hands-On Training: Practical training in a coating application role, ensuring you are ready to contribute effectively.
  • Industry Experience: Demonstrated experience in an engineering environment as a trained coating specialist.
  • Specialized Skills: Proficiency in industrial coating application with a solid understanding of spray coating processes.
  • Safety Awareness: Comprehensive knowledge of PPE/HSE requirements for operating coating application equipment, ensuring a safety-focused approach to all tasks.
  • Technical Expertise: Skilled in utilizing a 2-pack spray coating system for high-quality finishes.
Desirable:
  • Advanced Qualifications: Level 3 (NVQ) in Industrial Coating Occupations, showcasing your advanced skill set.
  • Engineering Background: Additional experience within an engineering context to enhance your versatility.
  • Additional Skills: Familiarity with overhead cranes is advantageous, though not mandatory as we provide comprehensive training.
Working Hours:
  • Rotating shifts: 6am-2pm / 2pm-10pm.
