About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pharmacist Specialist to join our Gastroenterology team at the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing specialist pharmacy input to our Gastroenterology services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert pharmacy input to the Gastroenterology team, including the prescribing and monitoring of biologic medicines.
  • Work closely with Consultants, ACP Pharmacists, and Specialist Nursing staff to deliver high-quality patient care.
  • Develop and implement pharmacy services to support the Gastroenterology team, including the development of clinical guidelines and protocols.
  • Contribute to the development of the pharmacy department, including the identification of areas for improvement and the implementation of changes.
  • Provide training and education to pharmacy staff and other healthcare professionals on Gastroenterology-related topics.

Person Specification

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Pharmacist Specialist who possesses the following qualities:

  • Relevant postgraduate qualifications in pharmacy, including a Master's degree or higher.
  • Extensive experience in pharmacy practice, including experience in Gastroenterology.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a wide range of healthcare professionals.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop and implement clinical guidelines and protocols.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to work and a willingness to adapt to changing priorities.
