Principal Fire Engineer Job Opportunity

Established fire consultancy Hunter Dunning Limited is seeking a highly skilled Principal Fire Engineer to join their team in Belfast. As a key member of the Fire Engineering team, you will be responsible for working on complex fire engineering projects, providing strategic advice, innovative design, and construction oversight services to clients in the UK and worldwide.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage technical aspects of larger projects or components of major projects
  • Support and mentor Fire Engineers within the team
  • Delivery of fire consultancy services, designer services, and fire strategies
  • Manage internal and external enquiries
  • Develop new and existing client relationships and identify new business opportunities
  • Lead the fire engineering team to deliver multiple projects
  • Attend design team meetings throughout the project
  • Support with business strategy and digital innovations
  • Preparation of reports, engineering designs, calculations, and specifications
  • Project manage from start to end, including financials, quality management planning, and customer care
Requirements:
  • Engineering Council Accredited BEng Hons, MEng, or MSc
  • CEng / IEng or working towards
  • MIFIREE or working towards
  • Ideally 7+ years' experience in fire engineering
  • Extensive experience in delivering fire-engineered solutions for UK-based projects
  • Familiar with active and passive fire protection systems
  • Strong understanding of UK legislation and design guidance
  • Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently, working to tight deadlines
  • UK Driving Licence and own vehicle
