Kier Group is excited to present a new opportunity for a skilled Quantity Surveyor within our construction division. We are looking for a qualified professional to join our team, contributing to significant projects in the commercial sector. This role will involve managing a high-value facility project, ensuring effective cost management and risk mitigation throughout the construction process.

Location: North West Region

Contract: Full-Time, Permanent

Key Responsibilities:

As a Quantity Surveyor, your role will encompass a variety of commercial responsibilities aimed at optimizing project costs and ensuring compliance with legal standards. Your daily tasks will include:

  • Structuring projects into manageable work packages for procurement.
  • Evaluating subcontractor bids and awarding contracts.
  • Negotiating with suppliers to secure the best value.
  • Overseeing payment applications from subcontractors.
  • Preparing client payment applications.
  • Tracking actual expenditures against budgeted costs through Cost Value Reconciliation Reports (CVR).
  • Final account preparation.
  • Managing team workloads effectively.
  • Compiling and verifying commercial data from the team.

Candidate Profile:

This position is ideal for individuals who possess:

  • A relevant academic qualification, such as a Degree or HND in Quantity Surveying.
  • Experience in delivering high-value commercial construction projects.
  • Background in Tier 1 main contracting.
  • Strong understanding of NEC and JCT contract conditions.
