Job Role: Learning Support Assistant
Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and motivated individual to join our team as a Learning Support Assistant. The successful candidate will provide targeted, personalized support to students with special educational needs, working closely with teachers and the pastoral team to ensure the best possible outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized support to students with SEMH needs, including those with ASD and ADHD
- Work collaboratively with teachers to develop and implement personalized learning plans
- Support the pastoral team in maintaining a safe and inclusive learning environment
- Contribute to the development of a positive and supportive classroom culture
- Participate in staff professional learning and development opportunities
Requirements:
- Experience working with students with SEMH needs and/or ASD and ADHD
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
- Passion for supporting the social, emotional, and mental wellbeing of students
Working Arrangements: 35 hours per week, 39 weeks per year
Coventry City Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
