About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Assistant to join our dynamic team at Coventry City Council. As a Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to adults with learning disabilities, enabling them to maintain their tenancies and live independently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide person-centred support to service users, promoting their dignity, respect, and choice at all times.
  • Support service users with personal care, including administering medication, as required.
  • Work collaboratively with the management team to ensure that all service users' needs are being met and their outcomes are achieved.
  • Use your initiative and respond flexibly to the needs of service users, adapting to changing circumstances as required.
Requirements
  • A basic knowledge of safeguarding, policies, and procedures is essential.
  • Ability to work with management to ensure that all service users' needs are being met.
  • Flexibility to work a range of shifts, including early and late shifts, and to cover sleeping-in shifts as required.
  • Commitment to completing a Diploma 2 in Health and Social Care within an agreed timescale.
What We Offer

As a Support Assistant with Coventry City Council, you will receive a competitive salary, a shift allowance of 14%, and a sleep-in payment for each sleep-in duty completed. You will also have the opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge in a dynamic and supportive team environment.
