About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Facade Engineer to lead our technical delivery of facade design and consultancy services in London. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for collaborating with architects, owners, consultants, and contractors to deliver high-quality facade solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Delivery: Lead the technical delivery of facade design and consultancy services, ensuring compliance with relevant building regulations and industry standards.
  • Collaboration and Coordination: Collaborate with project participants to ensure seamless project execution, including architects, owners, consultants, and contractors.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Produce reports, sketches, drawings, and technical deliverables at each project stage, ensuring accurate and timely documentation.
  • Technical Specifications: Write technical specifications and respond to site and construction-related queries, providing expert guidance to stakeholders.
  • Site Inspections and Testing: Conduct site inspections and witness facade performance testing, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Tender Appraisals and Design Reviews: Review contractors' proposals, conduct tender appraisals, and lead the technical review of specialist contractor detailed design submissions.
  • Team Guidance and Development: Provide technical guidance and mentoring to other team members, promoting knowledge sharing and best practices.
  • Business Development: Assist with business development activities, preparing fee proposals and contributing to the growth of our facade engineering services.
Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Engineering, or a relevant design-related discipline.
  • A Chartered Engineer or qualified Architect, or be an associate member of a relevant institution working towards qualification.
  • A minimum of eight years of facade design and engineering experience, with a strong understanding of facade systems, products, materials, and finishes.
  • Excellent communication skills, including verbal, report writing, and visual techniques.
  • Detailed knowledge of relevant building regulations, BS/EN standards, CWCT technical guidance, and international standards.
  • A thorough understanding of the principles governing the structural behavior and thermal performance of facades and their application in design and construction.
  • Extensive familiarity with different facade systems, products, materials, and finishes, and their fabrication, assembly, construction, and operation.
  • Eligibility to work in the United Kingdom.
