Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Site Manager to join our team at Vistry Devon South West, Bideford Site. As a key member of our site management team, you will be responsible for supporting the Project Manager and Site Manager in the day-to-day control of the site, management and delivery of project works, and day-to-day management and delivery of a larger-scale housing project.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Project Manager and Site Manager in the day-to-day control of the site, management and delivery of project works, and day-to-day management and delivery of a larger-scale housing project.
  • Manage and coordinate site activities, including planning, organizing, and controlling resources to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including project managers, site managers, and other departments, as well as external stakeholders, including contractors, suppliers, and clients.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, company policies, and procedures, and maintain a safe working environment for all site personnel.
  • Monitor and control site costs, including labor, materials, and equipment, to ensure projects are delivered within budget.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks and issues, and develop and implement contingency plans as necessary.
  • Collaborate with the project surveyor to ensure accurate and timely reporting of project progress, including financial, specification, and time risks.
  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of the project's commercial implications and drivers, and incorporate this knowledge into decision-making.
  • Participate in safety initiatives and maintain site cleanliness and presentation at all times.

Requirements

  • SMSTS, CSCS, First Aid, Scaffold inspection qualification.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proven experience in site management, with a strong understanding of construction processes and procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to working hours and locations.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate potential risks and issues.
