About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Group Accountant to join our team at Hiscox. As a Group Accountant, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of our financial reporting, while also providing support to the wider Finance team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of high-quality financial reports, including consolidated monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, in compliance with IFRS and Solvency II regulatory guidance.
- Maintain and enhance the financial control environment, including the development and implementation of financial processes and procedures.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including Business Unit finance teams and external auditors.
- Streamline and automate finance processes, leveraging technology enablers and best practices.
- Support the development of a continuous improvement culture, utilizing external insights and best practices.
- Actively support Finance and Group-wide projects relevant to the role.
Requirements:
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA/CIMA/ACCA)
- Good technical and financial reporting knowledge within the financial services sector, preferably the insurance sector.
- Ability to constructively challenge and analyze results.
- Hands-on approach and keen eye for detail.
- Strong control mindset and experience.
- Good problem-solving skills.
- Pragmatic decision maker.
- Enthusiastic, curious, and 'can-do' attitude.
