Job Title: Maintenance Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team at The Sterling Choice. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing facility by maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Maintenance and Repair:
  • Conduct regular preventive maintenance on machinery and equipment to prevent downtime and ensure efficient operation.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults to resolve issues quickly.
  • Perform mechanical and electrical repairs, including rewiring and component replacement, to ensure equipment reliability.
Fault Finding:
  • Utilize advanced fault-finding techniques to quickly identify and rectify issues within the production line.
  • Work closely with the production team to understand recurring issues and implement long-term solutions.
Compliance and Safety:
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work completed, parts used, and safety checks performed.
Installation and Upgrades:
  • Assist with the installation of new machinery and equipment, ensuring proper integration into existing systems.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to upgrade or modify existing equipment to enhance performance and efficiency.
Team Collaboration:
  • Work as part of a multi-skilled maintenance team, providing support and expertise as needed.
  • Liaise with external contractors and suppliers when necessary to source parts and services.

Requirements:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or relevant discipline).
  • Strong experience in mechanical and electrical maintenance within an FMCG manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient in fault finding and repairing electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
  • Proactive approach to maintenance and a keen interest in improving systems and processes.
