About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Distribution Team Lead to join our team at Sammons Recruitment Ltd. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for managing the full range of duties covering the branch Warehouse and Logistics operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the Goods Inwards Function
  • Adhere to Company stock management systems, ensuring that all stock is accurate and located correctly
  • Ensure delivery vehicles are loaded safely
  • Resource planning to maximise efficiency and ensure operational success
  • Housekeeping, ensuring all areas are clean and clear
  • Full compliance with Health and Safety procedures, including safety assessments
  • Take responsibility for security where applicable and necessary- deal with issues outside of office hours and the locking and unlocking of premises
  • Follow company procedures and be consistent with compliance
  • Develop improvement ideas
Requirements
  • Minimum three years' experience in leading a team in a warehousing and logistics environment
  • Experience in a distribution environment, to include picking/packing, rotation of stock, structuring of workloads
  • Knowledge of manual handling practice and the packing of materials safely to agreed procedures
  • Ability to operate computer-based stock management systems including Windows based software
  • Ability to retain knowledge of an extensive product range
  • Ability to coordinate, motivate and lead resources to deliver the required performance level and desired outcomes
  • To deliver briefings, performance reviews, use of performance management systems such as attendance management and coaching procedures
  • Experience of administration and clerical work – processing data and managing paperwork
  • Interpret numerical information
  • Team Leader Certification preferred
  • Current UK driving licence
  • Forklift Truck certification beneficial
