Location: South Leicestershire
Compensation: Competitive salary of £50,000 plus overtime and benefits package
Work Schedule: Rotating shifts including days, nights, and weekends (35-hour work week)
The Resolute Group Ltd is collaborating with a prominent client in the Rail sector, recently awarded a long-term contract to manage electrical assets in the South Leicestershire area.
No prior railway experience is necessary, as extensive training will be provided; however, candidates must possess an electrical qualification and demonstrated experience in team management.
In this role, you will utilize your existing electrical expertise while receiving specialized training and support to further your career within the rail industry. Successful candidates will play a vital role in maintaining and ensuring the reliability of essential rail infrastructure, contributing to the safe and efficient operation of systems such as UPS, signaling, lighting, and trackside equipment.
This position is ideal for electrical supervisors or team leaders seeking to transition into a new field, including those from military backgrounds, domestic electricians, or maintenance engineers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintenance and Repairs: Execute routine and preventive maintenance on electrical systems, including transformers, switchgear, and distribution boards.
- Inspections: Conduct regular assessments of electrical installations to detect faults, wear, and potential safety risks.
- Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve electrical issues swiftly to minimize downtime and ensure uninterrupted railway operations.
- Compliance and Safety: Ensure all tasks adhere to legislative standards, health and safety regulations, and relevant electrical codes.
- Documentation: Maintain precise records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs for compliance and reporting purposes.
- Collaboration: Work in close partnership with other technicians, engineers, and contractors to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems with other railway infrastructure.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Certification: Electrical bias apprenticeship – NVQ level 3 or City & Guilds or equivalent.
- Driving License: A full car or motorbike license is required due to the future on-call nature of the role.
- Drug & Alcohol Screening: Candidates must successfully pass a drug and alcohol screening.
Work Environment:
- Locations: South Leicestershire
- Hours: Working on a rotating schedule of days, nights, and weekends, totaling a 35-hour work week.
- Safety: Adherence to the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and strict safety protocols at all times.
