Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant (1:1 Support for Child with Autism - Year 5)

Sanza Teaching Agency is recruiting on behalf of a vibrant and diverse primary school in Islington, London, seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support to a Year 5 pupil with Autism.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized support to a child with Autism, enabling them to access the curriculum and thrive in the classroom environment.
  • Implement the child's Individual Education Plan (IEP) and tailor your approach to meet their specific learning needs.
  • Support the child's social, emotional, and behavioral development, using strategies to foster positive engagement.
  • Collaborate with the class teacher and SENCO to monitor the child's progress and adapt strategies as needed.
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment to encourage independence and confidence in the pupil.
  • Engage with parents, carers, and external professionals to ensure the child's well-being and holistic development.
The Ideal Candidate:
  • Has experience working 1:1 with children with Autism, providing tailored support to meet their unique needs.
  • Is passionate about creating a positive and inclusive learning environment for children with Autism.
  • Is able to work collaboratively with teachers and other professionals to support the child's development.
