Job Title: Apprentice Civil Engineer

Thames Water is seeking a talented and ambitious individual to join our Civil Engineering team as an Apprentice Civil Engineer. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic and fast-paced environment, where you will have the chance to develop your skills and knowledge in civil engineering and contribute to the company's mission to deliver life's essential service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate root causes of problems in our wastewater network and develop solutions to improve its efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Work closely with senior engineers to develop concepts and outline designs for various infrastructure projects, primarily for the wastewater team.
  • Provide civil engineering input into asset surveys, plant condition assessments, feasibility studies, whole-life costing, and preliminary designs.
  • Liaise with other engineering disciplines to ensure that the civil engineering design caters to their needs.
Requirements:
  • Be educated to degree level or other appropriate technical qualification in Civil Engineering.
  • Have some post-qualification experience as a civil engineer designing drainage networks, pump stations, and pipelines.
  • Have knowledge of the regulatory environment to achieve compliance with our Engineering regulatory requirements.

  • A competitive salary from £40,000 to £50,000 per annum.
  • 26 days holiday per year, increasing to 30 with the length of service.
