About the Role

The Quantity Surveyor's role is to oversee the commercial management of multiple electrical projects, working closely with project managers and design managers to ensure successful delivery of projects on time and to budget. This role supports the control of both internal and external commercial aspects of projects across a range of contractual arrangements.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Be the commercial lead on a project to maximize our margin, reduce cost and increase timely cash collection.
  2. Assist in all processes required to safely deliver our electrical works whilst maintaining compliance to company procedures and policies.
  3. Take responsibility for accepting budget & tender data from successful tenders into the Company accounting/Reporting System.
  4. Prepare the monthly project reports from the Company accounting/Reporting System.
  5. Prepare the monthly Applications and Invoicing to ensure submission in a timely manner of an accurate document aimed at maximizing the company's financial position.
  6. Notify your client early of any increased project value or delay to project completion.
  7. Meet with your client's commercial representative on a monthly basis to discuss certificates.
  8. Ensure accurate inputting of Applications and invoices onto the company accounts system including payment certificates.
  9. Ensure accurate inputting of Sub-Contractor Certificates on the company accounting system.
  10. Manage project correspondence and any potential time barring, and make the Project Manager aware of contentious project correspondence.
  11. Support the bidding team in the estimating, tendering and planning of new electrical projects.
  12. Provide substantiation for project change and/or costs.
  13. Compile and close out Final Accounts.
  14. Ensure your project team understands the Contract conditions and requirements.
  15. Collate information for financial audits on your electrical projects.
