Job Description

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Fire Safety Consultant to join our expanding fire safety consultancy division. As a Fire Safety Consultant, you will play a vital role in improving fire safety within the built environment and supporting the technical delivery of our services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough Fire Risk Assessments to identify potential fire hazards and develop effective mitigation strategies.
  • Assist with Construction Stage Fire Safety Site Audits to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Conduct Compartmentation Surveys to identify potential fire compartmentation issues and develop solutions.
  • Conduct Fire Door Surveys to ensure fire doors are properly installed, maintained, and compliant with regulations.
  • Conduct External Wall Surveys in support of PAS 9980 assessments to identify potential fire risks associated with external wall cladding.
  • Contribute to the development of Retrospective Fire Strategies to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.

Requirements

  • Membership of IFE / IFSM or equivalent.
  • Minimum Level 3 fire safety/fire risk assessment qualification.
  • Strong foundational knowledge in Fire Risk Assessment with the ability to conduct these independently.
  • Knowledge of current and upcoming fire safety legislation and guidance in the UK.
  • Ability to manage time and workload independently.
  • Ability to engage with clients and present observations and recommendations in a confident and clear manner.
  • Proactive mindset with a willingness to learn and grow in the role.

Desirable Attributes

  • Fire risk assessment qualification/accreditation (e.g., IFE, IFSM Tier 2 Risk Assessor Register or equivalent).

Note that if this is not currently held at the time of application, it is expected that you have the prerequisite skills and experience to achieve this within 3 months of employment.

This role is part of a growing, national team and there is a need for overnight stays to attend sites on occasion. All expenses covered.
