About the Role

The Research Associate will work closely with our Chair of Palliative Care and Child Health, Lorna Fraser, on an NIHR funded programme - Improving Care for children with life-limiting Conditions: developing, adapting, implementing and Evaluating interventions (ICICLE). The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the ICICLE programme, ensuring timely delivery of key milestones and objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the ICICLE programme, including coordination of work across studies and with external organisations
  • Contribute to the scientific excellence of the research activities
  • Develop and maintain effective communication and collaboration with clinician service providers and children and their parents
  • Ensure compliance with research governance procedures, including R&D and ethical approval processes
Requirements
  • PhD qualified in a relevant subject area, including health services research, palliative care, child health, psychology
  • Excellent task management skills, highly organised, self-motivated, and able to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Highly proficient IT skills, including Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Endnote, and experience of utilising advanced digital technology in day-to-day work
  • Knowledge of research governance procedures and commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion
