About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Critical Care Nurse to join our team at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a Critical Care Nurse, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care in our Neurosciences Intensive Care unit.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality patient care that is underpinned by the best evidence-based practice and our trust's values.
- Manage and direct the nursing care for a defined caseload of patients, ensuring that their needs are met and that they receive the best possible care.
- Maintain and develop high standards of nursing care, reflecting our trust's commitment to excellence and our patients' needs.
- Conduct yourself in a professional manner and be a role model to others at all times, adhering to our trust's code of conduct and the NMC Code.
- Work proactively to ensure that every hospital visit meets the needs of the patient and that they are discharged in a timely manner, ensuring effective communication with the family and/or relevant agencies as planned and agreed.
Person Specification
Essential
- Registered Nurse or national certificate in area of practice
- UK recognised degree in Nursing relevant to post
- Evidence of ongoing professional development through maintenance of an NMC revalidation or equivalent
- Excellent communication skills
- Able to prioritise own workload and that of others as appropriate
Desirable
- Post-graduate qualification related to an area of practice
- Previous experience relevant to area of speciality
