Job Title: Principal Engineer Nuclear EC&I

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Engineer Nuclear EC&I to join our team at Westlakes Recruit. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for developing sound technical solutions to issues arising during construction and commissioning.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Developing technical solutions to issues arising during construction and commissioning
  • Supporting or acting as the engineering member of the test and authorisation groups
  • Specialising in EC&I discipline
  • Authorising Chief Engineer Declaration Statements based on engineering review of the as-built/as-tested status of the plant
  • Carrying out nuclear safety assessment of design changes and deviations from the design intent
  • Ensuring the design intent is maintained during build and test activities on site
  • Providing technical rationale and sound engineering recommendations to challenge existing requirements
  • Providing an interface with Build/Test teams for engineering solutions
  • Enabling efficient programme execution with engineering solutions
Requirements:
  • Degree qualified Electrical Engineering or Control and Instrumentation Engineering
  • Experience of supporting build and commissioning of Electrical and/or Control Systems
  • Demonstrable understanding of 3 phase/single phase machines; digital and analogue based control systems and mechanical interfaces
  • Technical report writing skills
Desirable:
  • Experience of justifying design change, ideally on a Nuclear Plant
  • Previous Nuclear Plant experience
  • Knowledge of the Nuclear Industry and Nuclear Regulations (or other highly regulated industry)
  • Exposure to Microsoft Office Suite
