Westlakes Recruit is seeking a highly skilled Principal Engineer - Nuclear (EC&I) to join our team on a staff basis. This role is located in Cumbria and offers a hybrid working model of 2 days on site.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement sound technical solutions to issues arising during construction and commissioning.
- Support or lead the engineering member of the test and authorisation groups.
- Specialise in EC&I discipline and ensure the design intent is maintained during build and test activities.
- Author Chief Engineer Declaration Statements based on engineering review of the as-built/as-tested status of the plant.
- Carry out nuclear safety assessment of design changes and deviations from the design intent.
- Provide technical rationale and sound engineering recommendations to challenge existing requirements.
- Interface with Build/Test teams for engineering solutions and enable efficient programme execution.
- Degree qualified Electrical Engineering or Control and Instrumentation Engineering.
- Experience of supporting build and commissioning of Electrical and/or Control Systems.
- Demonstrable understanding of 3 phase/single phase machines; digital and analogue based control systems and mechanical interfaces.
- Technical report writing skills.
- Experience of justifying design change, ideally on a Nuclear Plant.
- Previous Nuclear Plant experience.
- Knowledge of the Nuclear Industry and Nuclear Regulations (or other highly regulated industry).
- Exposure to Microsoft Office Suite.
