Position Overview:

As a Ticket Barrier Operations Assistant, you will be an integral part of a dedicated team at the station. This role places you at the forefront of customer interaction, ensuring a smooth and efficient experience for all travelers. You will also play a crucial role in managing fare compliance by addressing instances of travel without valid tickets. While the environment can be fast-paced and demanding, the rewards of this position are significant.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing exceptional service to all customers
  • Supporting the daily functionality of the automatic ticket barriers
  • Ensuring the safety and security of customers while addressing their inquiries
  • Conducting ticket inspections and issuing tickets as necessary
  • Responding to customer needs during service interruptions
  • Maintaining a clean and professional appearance of the gateline area, ensuring clear pathways for customers
  • Facilitating ticket sales through a mobile ticketing system and managing related financial processes

Work Environment:

This position is based at a central station, conveniently located near local amenities. It is essential to have reliable transportation due to the variable shift timings that may not align with public transport schedules.

Shift Patterns:

The role requires flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and public holidays.

Additional Information:

Candidates will be required to complete an online assessment following their application submission. Those shortlisted will be invited for an interview. Successful candidates must meet the medical standards for this position and obtain a Basic DBS Certificate.
