An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Community Facilities Assistant to join the North Somerset Council's Facilities Team. The successful candidate will work at a multi-site facility, which includes educational institutions and community centers.
About the Role- Ensuring correct disposal of waste in compliance with guidelines and regulations
- Undertaking regular building checks and maintenance tasks to ensure a safe and healthy environment
- Performing first line maintenance duties to prevent equipment failure and minimize downtime
- Reporting building faults and defects to the maintenance team
- Conducting site safety checks and porterage duties to ensure a secure and accessible environment
- Ensuring all external contractors are appropriately vetted and qualified to work on council premises
Qualifications: A minimum of 3 GCSE's or the equivalent, with a focus on maintenance and facilities management.
Work related experience: Experience working in a similar environment or within schools or community buildings, with a focus on facilities management and maintenance.
Personal skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Special working conditions: Must have a valid driving license and own transport, with a focus on safe and efficient travel to and from council premises.
Other: Satisfactory enhanced DBS disclosure certificate required, with a focus on ensuring the safety and well-being of staff, students, and the wider community.
