About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Technical Manager to lead our Technical function at our Thrapston site, one of the UK's largest fruit packing operations. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for driving food quality and safety, while overseeing the technical aspects of our produce manufacturing site.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive Technical strategy for the Thrapston site, aligning with commercial, operational, and business goals.
  • Lead Site Technical and Hygiene teams to deliver high-quality products for our own brand and third-party customers.
  • Drive culture change programs for quality delivery and new business projects.
  • Ensure safe, legal, and high-quality products, protecting our customers, reputation, and brand.
About You

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced professional with a strong background in food manufacturing, quality control, and food safety. You will have a proven track record of leading technical teams and driving business growth.

Key Requirements:
  • Extensive knowledge of food manufacturing processes, produce quality, and food safety controls.
  • Experience working with At Source, site technical, procurement, and operational teams.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience in large and multi-site leadership.
  • Ability to drive performance improvement and manage change at pace.
  • Excellent communication, engagement, and motivational skills.
  • Recognized qualifications in Microbiology, Food Science, Food Technology, Lead Assessor, and HACCP.

  • Suppliers, Technical Colleagues, Retail, Procurement, Commercial, Operations, and Regulatory agencies.
