The Youth Justice Service Officer role involves a permanent, full-time commitment, focusing on community engagement.
Compensation
Salary range: £36,101 to £48,622 per annum.
Role Summary
As a Youth Justice Service Officer, you will play a vital role in mitigating youth offending by collaborating closely with families, educational institutions, and key agencies. Your efforts will be directed towards addressing the underlying factors contributing to youth crime and representing the Youth Justice Service in multi-agency meetings to achieve improved outcomes for young individuals.
Qualifications and Experience Required
- Must be registered with Social Work England as a qualified Social Worker or possess qualifications as a probation officer.
- Experience in working with complex youth or young adults in criminal justice or care environments, with a strong understanding of the challenges faced by these demographics.
- Proficient communication skills and IT capabilities, ensuring meticulous documentation on the Youth Offending Service case management system.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities under pressure, with a commitment to personal and professional growth.
- Skill in positively challenging young people's attitudes and behaviors, fostering partnerships with youth, their families, and other stakeholders.
- Experience in effectively collaborating within a multi-disciplinary team and across various organizations.
Mobility Requirements
This position necessitates mobility across a broad operational area, including travel throughout Essex and beyond. You will be responsible for transporting service users and their belongings as needed. A valid driving license and access to a vehicle, or alternative means to meet mobility requirements, are essential.
