About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Psychologist to join our West Essex in-patient team, specializing in older adult mental health. The successful candidate will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to provide assessments, formulations, and interventions for older adults and people living with dementia.

Main Responsibilities

The post holder will be responsible for the provision of neuropsychological assessments, formulations, and interventions for older adults and people living with dementia. They will also support in-patients and their family carers through the emotionally challenging time of a mental health crisis.

Team and Development

The successful candidate will join a cohesive and supportive team of Clinical Psychologists, Clinical Associates in Psychology, and Assistant Psychologists. They will have opportunities for multi-disciplinary staff training and consultancy, as well as significant scope for developing the role in response to local need and service development initiatives.

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have a DClinPsy or equivalent qualification, with experience of supervising more junior colleagues and post-qualification work with older adult populations or in-patients. They will be passionate about working with older adults and have a desire for variety and initiative in their professional role.
