Role Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Therapeutic Support Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting the well-being of looked after children and care leavers.

  • Facilitate Reflective Practice sessions for residential staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Provide direct therapeutic support to Looked After Children and Care Leavers, helping them navigate challenges and build resilience.
  • Collaborate with children, carers, and social workers in crisis situations, offering timely and effective interventions.
  • Deliver training and consultative support to foster carers, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to provide nurturing and therapeutic environments.
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of our Therapeutic Service, ensuring it remains responsive to the evolving needs of the children and families we serve.

Requirements

  • Possess a degree in a relevant field, such as psychology, social work, or counseling.
  • Have a minimum of three years of experience working with children and families in a therapeutic setting.
  • Demonstrate expertise in crisis intervention and multi-agency collaboration.
  • Possess at least one year of experience delivering therapeutic interventions to children and young people.
  • Have a strong understanding of the UK legislative framework related to child protection and welfare.
  • Exhibit excellent interpersonal and communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with diverse stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate the ability to manage a caseload independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Be proficient in IT skills and possess strong organizational abilities.
  • Show flexibility and willingness to work flexible hours as needed.
