About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Kier Group. As a Principal Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering a broad range of mechanical projects, primarily within the water sector. Your expertise will be utilized to design and develop pumping systems, pumping stations, and other mechanical infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop pumping systems and pumping stations, including pipework and valving arrangements.
  • Produce hydraulic calculations and select suitable pumps for various applications.
  • Develop equipment specifications and datasheets from process requirement specifications and P&IDs.
  • Review and input to P&IDs.
  • Participate in HAZOP meetings and contribute to the development of safety protocols.

Requirements:

  • Chartered membership of a relevant professional institution (e.g., CEng MICE).
  • Several years of postgraduate experience in mechanical engineering.
  • Experience working on pumping stations and water sector projects.
