Lead Consultant - Flooding and Coastal Protection
Job Summary:We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Consultant to join our Flooding and Coastal Protection team at Fife Council. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the delivery of flood risk management, coastal, and harbours obligations in accordance with national legislation and the prescribed standards and policies of Fife Council.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead the provision of professional and technical input into the development and implementation of effective flood prevention, shoreline management, and harbours functions.
- Manage the procurement, design, and supervision of hydraulic flood and coastal studies and construction of flooding, shoreline, and harbours projects.
- Develop forward design and construction programmes for all flooding, shoreline, and harbours projects to achieve budget profiles.
- Inspect, maintain, and operate harbours assets.
- Research and prepare reports for the Service Manager and working groups on technical, financial, performance, and service delivery issues.
- Detailed knowledge of civil engineering functions, particularly in flooding, shoreline management, and harbour asset maintenance.
- Extensive knowledge of civil engineering specifications, conditions of contract, and tendering procedures.
- Report writing and analytical skills.
- Experience in preparing and managing project plans and programmes.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
