Job Title: Air Logistics Gateway & Procurement Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Air Logistics Gateway & Procurement Specialist to join our team at Kuehne+Nagel. As a key member of our Air Logistics Commercial team, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of our partnership.

Your Role

As an Air Logistics Gateway & Procurement Specialist, you will be responsible for procuring air freight costs and flights, booking and processing export shipments on an allocation or ad-hoc basis to strict deadlines. You will also plan and monitor full utilization of trucks, ensuring compliance with regulatory and legislative authorities.

Your Responsibilities
  • Capacity procurement and rate negotiation on scheduled flights, charter, and part charter services.
  • Export: Produce and prepare documents for transit of cargo, ensure customs declarations, security checks are complete, and issue check certificates. You will also follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), create accurate accruals, recover compromised route plans, negotiate spot rates, increase or decrease allocations, optimize processes, and support safe unit load device (ULD) builds and manage ULD equipment.
  • Ensure full compliance with regulatory and legislative authorities, including ETSF regulations and aviation security regulations.
Your Skills and Experiences
  • Demonstrable experience within air freight, specifically with capacity and rate negotiation experience on commercial and charter carriers.
  • A good understanding of aircraft types and configurations, routings, and equipment experience.
  • Strong commercial acumen, resourcefulness, and proficiency in time management, organization, and planning.
  • Good IT skills, specifically Microsoft Office packages.
