About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Team Nurse to join our Dorset and Wiltshire Nursing Team at Julia's House Children's Hospices. As a Team Nurse, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality clinical nursing care to children with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions, as well as supporting their families.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess care needs and develop, implement, and evaluate programmes of care to meet individual client needs, in conjunction with Senior Team Nurses and Lead Nurses.
  • Manage a team of Carers, providing day-to-day supervision and teaching to ensure excellent care standards.
  • Participate in an on-call rota, providing telephone support for care staff and families.
  • Liaise with the Julias House Care Team and statutory and voluntary agencies involved in client care.

Person Specification

  • Essential qualifications: RSCN/RN (Child Branch) diploma or degree, Registered Learning Disability Nurse, RGN, RN Adult Safeguarding Awareness Level 3.
  • Desirable qualifications: Counselling training and/or care of the dying and bereaved course or experience, ENB 998 or equivalent teaching and assessing course.
  • Essential experience: Two years relevant post-qualification experience at Band 5 or above, experience of caring for and working alongside families in their own environment, ability to work both in a team and independently or with minimal supervision.
  • Desirable experience: Experience of working with children who have life-limiting/life-threatening conditions, experience of working with children who have complex medical needs.
