The primary focus for the successful candidate will encompass the following key responsibilities:
- Deliver nursing leadership, enhancement, and management of services within this acute care setting to ensure the highest standards of patient care and service efficiency.
- Serve as a confident role model for junior nursing staff.
- Drive improvements in patient outcomes and safety, ensuring that all patients are treated with dignity and respect.
- Uphold best practices in infection control.
- Collaborate with the Ward Manager to implement and sustain quality improvement initiatives.
- Facilitate safe and effective discharge planning.
- Support the maintenance of a clean and safe environment.
- Engage in the overall management of the ward, including night shifts in collaboration with the Ward Manager.
- Assist the Ward Manager in the education and training of ward personnel.
- In partnership with the Ward Manager, advocate for the delivery of high-quality, research-informed nursing care.
- Participate in the development and monitoring of care plans.
- Ensure the effective and efficient use of available resources.
- Foster an environment conducive to learning and professional growth.
- Ensure adherence to Trust policies and directives at the ward level.
- Act in accordance with the Nursing & Midwifery Code of Conduct (NMC).
- Assume the responsibilities of the Ward Manager as needed.

Detailed Job Responsibilities- Engage in the overall management of the ward, including night shifts in collaboration with the Ward Manager.
