Position Overview

The primary focus for the successful candidate will encompass the following key responsibilities:

  • Deliver nursing leadership, enhancement, and management of services within this acute care setting to ensure the highest standards of patient care and service efficiency.
  • Serve as a confident role model for junior nursing staff.
  • Drive improvements in patient outcomes and safety, ensuring that all patients are treated with dignity and respect.
  • Uphold best practices in infection control.
  • Collaborate with the Ward Manager to implement and sustain quality improvement initiatives.
  • Facilitate safe and effective discharge planning.
  • Support the maintenance of a clean and safe environment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Engage in the overall management of the ward, including night shifts in collaboration with the Ward Manager.
  • Assist the Ward Manager in the education and training of ward personnel.
  • In partnership with the Ward Manager, advocate for the delivery of high-quality, research-informed nursing care.
  • Participate in the development and monitoring of care plans.
  • Ensure the effective and efficient use of available resources.
  • Foster an environment conducive to learning and professional growth.
  • Ensure adherence to Trust policies and directives at the ward level.
  • Act in accordance with the Nursing & Midwifery Code of Conduct (NMC).
  • Assume the responsibilities of the Ward Manager as needed.

Detailed Job Responsibilities
