Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Kitchen Assistant to join our team. As a Kitchen Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting our chefs in the preparation and presentation of our dishes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist our chefs in the preparation and cooking of traditional Afrikaans dishes, such as Amasi mieliepap, waterblommetjie, Bobotie and other delicious recipes.
  • Work in a fast-paced kitchen environment, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization.
  • Assist with pastry preparation, including baking and decorating.
  • Support the kitchen team in the daily cooking and baking responsibilities.
  • Work effectively in a team environment, communicating clearly and respectfully with colleagues.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar upmarket establishment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment.
  • Relevant cooking and baking experience, with a strong understanding of traditional Afrikaans cuisine.
  • Ability to take direction and work well in a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
