Stockport, Stockport, United Kingdom Stockport Council Full time

Caregivers for Foster Children (various fostering programs)
£305 - £764 per week tax exempt (based on the children's age)

Stockport Council's Fostering Team is seeking to recruit caregivers for a diverse range of fostering programs who can:

1. provide short-term, respite, or long-term care for local children and young individuals
2. accommodate sibling groups of two or more children
3. offer specialized support to our complex children and those with additional needs

We are actively looking for caregivers who can support children aged between years old in both short-term and long-term care settings. We aim to find local caregivers who can nurture a wide variety of children and young individuals, particularly focusing on older children and teenagers, sibling pairs, and those with additional needs. Ideal candidates will possess the time, availability, space, a spare room, and the compassion necessary to welcome a local child or young person into their home.

Our caregivers must be prepared to engage with a broad age range of children and demonstrate commitment, understanding, and empathy during challenging times to help them flourish.

We also encourage applications from individuals who can care for sibling groups of two or more children, as we strive to keep siblings together whenever feasible to maintain their bond and foster attachment.

We provide our caregivers with exceptional training, support, and a tax-exempt financial package along with benefits. We will assist them throughout the assessment process and collaborate as a team to ensure that both the caregiver's and child's needs are met.

Additionally, we offer local discounts, tax guidance, and community support groups where caregivers can connect with peers for mutual support.

For further information about this role, please reach out to Stockport Council's fostering recruitment team.

There is no need to submit a CV, as we will discuss this career opportunity during an informal conversation with our qualified social workers.

The successful candidate's appointment will be contingent upon satisfactory pre-employment clearances, including a Disclosure and Barring Service check.
