Key Responsibilities

- Conduct medical and forensic evaluations in line with Mountain Healthcare protocols, ensuring adherence to your professional registration standards.

- Provide expert assistance to the Court in all pertinent medico-legal issues.

- Operate as an autonomous medical practitioner, exercising independent clinical judgment.

- This role will be closely monitored during the Out of Programme Experience (OOPE) year.

- Stay updated on guidelines and publications issued by relevant authorities, demonstrating an understanding of and sensitivity to the developmental, social, and emotional needs of children.

Job Responsibilities

- Child Forensic Medical Examiner - Eastern SARCs (Suffolk/Norfolk)

- Out of Programme Experience (OOPE)/Alternative Clinical Experience (ACE) - Part-time (16 hours)

Mountain Healthcare is excited to present our specialized training program for sexual assault examination. We recognize that committing to a specialized training position is a significant decision, and we are dedicated to providing a supportive development program to facilitate your transition from a Senior House Officer.

As part of our Forensic Medical Program, we have established a framework to enhance essential knowledge and skills applicable across various specialties, particularly in A&E, General Practice, Pediatrics, Psychiatry, and Forensic Medicine.

This program primarily focuses on Child Sexual Assault Referral Centres (SARCs), with potential additional responsibilities in adult services.

Travel will be necessary for this role, covering various SARCs (expenses reimbursed).

Qualifications

Essential

  • Completion of medical school, GMC registration, and Foundation Year 2 or equivalent.

Experience

Essential

  • Basic Life Support certification and experience in an acute care setting.
  • Interest in Sexual Health.
  • Experience as a Core Trainee.
  • Experience in A&E or acute medicine.
  • Experience in Sexual Health, Pediatrics, or Obstetrics.
  • Experience in Research and/or Audit.
