About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Kitchen Assistant to join our team at HC-One. As a Kitchen Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest standards of food safety, hygiene, and quality in our care homes.

Your primary responsibility will be to assist in the preparation and serving of nutritious meals to our residents. You will work closely with our chefs and kitchen staff to maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, adhering to strict health and safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in food preparation, cooking, and presentation
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment
  • Ensure food safety and hygiene standards are met
  • Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to achieve high-quality meal service
  • Support the chef in menu planning and food ordering
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Previous experience in a kitchen environment, preferably in a care home setting
  • NVQ2 in Catering or Food Preparation, or willingness to study for one
  • Excellent record-keeping and organizational skills
  • Ability to follow recipes and maintain high standards of food quality
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
