We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to join our culinary team at Roselea Court Care Home. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the preparation and delivery of high-quality meals to our residents.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist in the preparation of food, ensuring meals are ready efficiently and to a high standard.
- Maintain general cleanliness and tidiness in the kitchen area, including equipment and appliances.
- Receive, check, and safely store kitchen deliveries, ensuring all items are properly accounted for and stored.
- Understand and implement safe food handling principles to ensure the highest standards of food safety are met.
- Follow cleaning procedures for different surfaces and equipment, ensuring everything is sanitized and well-maintained.
- Ensure all areas are well-presented and maintained in good condition, contributing to a professional kitchen environment.
- Practice safe systems of work across a range of tasks to minimize risks and ensure a safe working environment.
- Understand and adhere to Health and Safety at Work legislation, always ensuring compliance and safety.
- Act in a professional and courteous manner at all times, fostering a positive and respectful workplace.
- Encourage and contribute to teamwork, supporting colleagues and working together effectively.
- Take responsibility for the safe and tidy storage of supplies and equipment, in line with your area of work.
- Read, understand, and adhere to company policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with all relevant guidelines.
- Strong organizational skills to manage tasks efficiently and maintain a clean and orderly kitchen.
- Basic understanding of food safety and handling principles.
- Keen attention to detail for ensuring cleanliness, proper food storage, and accurate handling of deliveries.
- Good communication skills to work effectively with kitchen staff and management.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, contributing to a positive and productive kitchen environment.
