About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and adaptable individual to join our team as an Assistant Manager at YMCA Doncaster. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth delivery of our services and supporting our staff and volunteers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Frontline Delivery: Cover frontline duties, including accommodation, community, and activities settings, ensuring continuous cover and attending reliably and on time.
  • Duty Management: Act as a Duty Manager, dealing with staffing and other issues arising during periods of duty, in accordance with set procedures.
  • On-Call Service: Provide an out-of-hours On-Call service on a rota basis, responding effectively to concerns and finding cover in case of sickness or absence.
  • Administrative and Leadership Duties: Take on administrative, leadership, reviewing, or project duties, including during periods of illness, leave, and vacancies.
  • Accountability and Confidentiality: Be accountable for delegated responsibilities, including working with children and young people, and maintaining confidentiality at all times.

  • Personable and Engaging Manner: Possess a personable and engaging manner across a range of situations, including with children, young people, businesses, and the broader community.
  • Commitment to Wellbeing: Commit to the wellbeing and development of young people, including those with personal and social vulnerabilities.
  • Leadership and Management: Able to demonstrate sufficient presence, confidence, and professionalism for undertaking a management role.
  • Technical Skills: Computer literate, able to use Microsoft Word and Excel to a high standard, and use technology in devising and using procedures, gathering information, and using online software.
  • Communication and Confidentiality: Excellent written communication skills, a strong command of grammar, and a clear understanding of the importance of confidentiality and appropriate relationships.
