About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as an Autism Specialist Teaching Assistant at a Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) school in Portsmouth.

The ideal candidate will have relevant experience working with children who have learning difficulties and complex needs, and possess a positive and engaging personality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide 1:1 support for children and support with small group activities
  • Work in a challenging setting with patience and understanding
  • Knowledge of PECS or Makaton would be an advantage
Benefits

  • Full-time (term-time only) position with a regular schedule

Requirements
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years
  • DBS registered to the update service or willingness to apply for one with GSL Education
