Our team consists of 2,800 dedicated individuals operating within 8 bakeries, 1 flour mill, and 2 regional distribution centers throughout the UK. Our achievements stem from the dedication of our workforce, who are specialists in their respective fields, whether in baking, manufacturing, logistics, engineering, or various departments within our central functions team based at our head office.
We are excited to announce a new opportunity within our Bradford Bakery for an Engineering Operations Manager to join our Engineering Team. This pivotal role involves overseeing, nurturing, and spearheading functional excellence within a team of Shift Engineers, with a focus on enhancements and accountability for managing and executing capital projects related to material usage on-site.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with PPM & corrective work
- Manage budget effectively
- Maintain an optimal ratio of operational to non-operational maintenance
- Monitor Health & Safety KPIs
- Provide technical support to operational Front Line Managers
- Oversee contractor work scoping and management
- Generate and implement improvement initiatives
- Share best practices across various sites
- Develop and manage the engineering team
- Oversee Health & Safety management
- Foster a culture of autonomous maintenance
- Occasionally engage in high-tech physical maintenance tasks
- Support reactive teams as needed
- Propose, submit, and manage capital projects up to £50k
- Ensure compliance with all relevant corporate and legal standards, including personal safety, food safety, quality, hygiene, and environmental regulations
The ideal candidate should possess:
- Adaptability and flexibility to accommodate changes in operational demands
- Experience in Food or FMCG Engineering
- Ability to work independently
- Understanding of basic baking processes
- Leadership and management experience
- Awareness of budget control
- Strong knowledge of Health & Safety practices
Working Hours: The role requires availability from Monday to Friday, with flexibility to meet business needs.
