Maintenance Planner Job Description

The Maintenance Planner plays a crucial role in ensuring the airworthiness of aircraft by providing short and medium-term planning requirements and material planning needs to support scheduled maintenance inputs.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Compliance and Planning: Ensure adherence to legislative and company procedures to maintain compliance and aircraft airworthiness.
  2. Liaison and Coordination: Collaborate with Operations Controllers, Technical Records, and the Maintenance Team to ensure a common understanding of capability and capacity.
  3. Technical Log Utilization: Enter technical log utilization data onto the Maintenance system.
  4. Aircraft Status Review: Review allocated aircraft status reports on a weekly basis to ensure full maintenance programme compliance.
  5. Provisional Maintenance Dates: Identify provisional maintenance dates for allocated aircraft based on projected utilization and update the Maintenance planning calendar.
  6. Material Requirements: Review material requirements against provisional maintenance dates for allocated aircraft and raise reservations/purchase requisitions for missing materials.
  7. Scheduled Maintenance Orders: Raise aircraft scheduled maintenance orders.
  8. Work Specifications and Packages: Review prepared work specifications and work packages for maintenance inputs to minimize aircraft downtimes.
  9. Material Availability: Confirm material requirements are available for scheduled maintenance events for allocated aircraft.
  10. Support Documentation: Ensure that the support and prepared documentation provided by Planning meets the needs of scheduled maintenance inputs.
  11. Maintenance Tasks: Reset Maintenance tasks in MIS.
  12. Additional Tasks: Perform other reasonable tasks as directed by AHUK management team in support of the MFTS operation.

Requirements:

  1. EASA Regulations: Knowledge of EASA regulations relating to Part M and Part 145 Airworthiness and Maintenance requirements.
  2. Software Experience: Experience with SAP and ERP software for the use of Technical Records, Planning, and Maintenance.
  3. Computer Literacy: High computer literacy skills; competent with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access).

Qualifications and Training:

  1. EASA Part 145 and Part M Training: Formalised EASA Part 145 and Part M training.
  2. Aviation-Related Discipline: Academic qualification in an Aviation-related discipline (NVQ, BTEC, HNC/D).
