About the Role:

Fletchers Solicitors is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Paralegal to join our Clinical Negligence Team in Southport. As a Paralegal, you will play a crucial role in assisting our lawyers and senior lawyers in the running of a caseload of Clinical Negligence cases from inception to trial.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Assist lawyers and senior lawyers in the management of Clinical Negligence cases, ensuring timely and efficient progression.
  • Liaise with clients, experts, barristers, third-party solicitors, and insurers as directed.
  • Deal with all aspects of pre and post-issue procedures under supervision, ensuring timely and cost-effective completion.
  • Ensure accurate time recording and maintain client files in good order, adhering to Lexcel and quality assurance requirements.
  • Report to senior lawyers as required and assist in the collection and collation of medical records.
  • Prepare client documents, such as witness statements, and deal with a caseload of Clinical Negligence cases in the early stages.

Requirements:

  • Desire to work in Clinical Negligence law and preferably some experience.
  • Graduate, preferably with a Law-related degree and/or professional qualification such as LPC or route to BAR or CILEX.
  • Ability to take direction and supervision from team leaders.
  • Proven legal and forensic skills, good research skills, attention to detail, keen analytical skills, and good organisational skills.
  • Excellent people skills and service ethos, ability to influence at all levels, excellent oral and written communication skills, and flexibility to commit to achieving results and meeting deadlines.
