About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Rentokil Initial team as a Legal Business Partner, playing a key role in the development and enhancement of the legal function. You will work closely with the senior management to accelerate the growth of the business and position the Group for further success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Trusted Advisor: Provide timely and competent legal advice to the Group, serving as a trusted advisor and legal business partner.
  • Contract Management: Manage and review customer contracts for the Global Accounts Team, ensuring compliance with the Group contracting policy and acting as the point of contact for the Global Accounts team.
  • Third-Party Agreements: Review and negotiate third-party agreements, NDAs, material transfers, regulatory applications, responses to regulators, and investigations.
  • Product Development: Provide legal support throughout the new product development process and maintain knowledge of new, existing, and legacy brands, products, and services.
  • Marketing Claims: Provide marketing claims advice in accordance with advertising and product laws and regulations.
  • Domain Management: Advise on domain registrations, transfers, and infringements.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Provide expert legal advice on health and safety, privacy, and other legal and regulatory requirements.
  • IP Portfolio Management: Manage the Group and Local IP Portfolio.
  • Procurement Support: Support the Group Procurement function through reviewing and negotiating general supplier/service provider terms and conditions, advising on the Group Procurement Policy and Procurement Contracts Minimum Standards, and providing advice on supplier on-boarding and ancillary matters.
  • IT Support: Support the Group IT function through providing legal advice on AI regulation, maintaining and developing GenAI & AI Policy, advising on AI use and AIaaS contracting, and sharing knowledge with legal colleagues and drafting advisory notes/playbooks.
  • Horizon Scanning: Horizon scan for new legislation, regulation, and case law impacting the function and provide appropriate advice.
  • Query Management: Manage external legal services provider(s) as required and provide legal support as needed.
Requirements
  • Legal Expertise: Strong analytical skills, significant experience of dealing with complex legal issues, delivery of straightforward, pragmatic, action-oriented advice.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Influencing Skills: A strong ability to affect the behavior of multiple stakeholders so that a good legal and fiscal position is maintained for the company.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to think strategically and creatively, to identify and resolve legal issues, comfortable working with less-than-perfect information and recommending courses of action.
  • Business Acumen: Interest in understanding the business in depth, and operating within a dynamic, international context.
  • Adaptability: Willingness to work in areas of law that are new to the candidate with appropriate support and training.
  • Teamwork: Able to work well as a team member and build strong relationships based on rapport and trust with both internal and external stakeholders.
