About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Packaging Technologist to join our team at McCormick & Company. As a Packaging Technologist, you will play a key role in the development and implementation of packaging solutions that meet our business needs.

Main Responsibilities

  • Project Management
    • Manage packaging development projects from concept to completion, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery.
    • Liaise with cross-functional teams, including R&D, Operations, Engineering, Procurement, and Suppliers to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Packaging Development
    • Develop and implement packaging solutions that meet our business requirements, ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and regulatory compliance.
    • Collaborate with Suppliers to ensure packaging materials meet our specifications and regulatory requirements.
  • Cost Optimization
    • Identify opportunities for cost savings through packaging material changes or supplier optimization.
    • Develop and implement cost-saving initiatives, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
  • Technical Expertise
    • Stay up-to-date with the latest packaging technologies and trends, applying this knowledge to drive innovation and improvement.
    • Provide technical guidance and support to cross-functional teams on packaging-related matters.

Requirements

  • Education
    • Degree in Packaging or related Science field (e.g., Food Science, Engineering).
  • Experience
    • Previous experience in packaging development, preferably in the food industry.
    • Knowledge of Form, Fill, Seal (FFS) technology, ideally horizontal.
  • Skills
    • Excellent technical knowledge of packaging materials, equipment, and processes.
    • Strong project management and communication skills.
    • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
